La Guardia Airport was originally named Glenn H.
Curtiss Airport when it was constructed in 1929. Somtime after that the name was changed to North Beach Airport. In October, 1939 it was renamed New York Municipal Airport and New York Municipal Airport-La Guardia Field in November, 1939.
